How to set expiry dates on credentials

Three ways to set expiry dates: for everyone, for each issue, or for each recipient.

You can give credentials an expiry date, for example for a qualification that needs renewing every two years. Once the date passes, the credential is marked as expired. It stays online, and anyone checking it can see that it has expired.

There are three ways to set an expiry date, depending on what you need.

1. One expiry date for everyone, set on the credential

Use this when every recipient's credential should expire on the same date.

  1. When you create or edit the credential, go to the General settings stage, after the design.

  2. Scroll down to Expiry Date and choose a date.

  3. Save.

Every time you issue this credential, it will use this date unless you change it when issuing.

2. A new expiry date each time you issue

Use this when you issue the same credential to different groups at different times, and each group needs its own expiry date.

  1. Click Credentials in the left-hand menu.

  2. Select the credential you want to issue.

  3. On the Issue Credential page, set the expiration date for this issue.

3. A different expiry date for each recipient

Use this when recipients qualified at different times.

  1. Click Credentials in the left-hand menu.

  2. Select the credential you want to issue.

  3. Add your recipients.

  4. In the list of recipients ready to be issued, click the edit button next to a recipient's name.

  5. Set their expiration date and click Close.
