Getting started with Certify

From a new account to your first issued credential in seven steps, all on the free Starter plan.

This guide takes you from a new account to your first issued credential. You can do all of it on the free Starter plan.

1. Create your free account

Sign up at app.certify.one. Your first 50 recipients are free and no credit card is needed.

2. Set up your issuer page

Everyone who views your credentials sees your issuer page, so set it up first.

  1. Click Account settings in the left-hand menu and add your organisation's name, website and logo.

  2. Click Branding and marketing and add your social media links.

For the full list, including LinkedIn and your team, see Setting up your issuer account: a checklist.

3. Design your badge or certificate

  1. Click Designs in the left-hand menu.

  2. Click the + button, build your design in the drag-and-drop designer, and save it.

You can also upload a design you already have. See How do I design a digital credential? Not sure what to create? See Badge, certificate or both?

4. Create your credential

A credential brings together your design and the details of the achievement.

  1. Click Credentials in the left-hand menu and create a new credential.

  2. Add your badge design, your certificate design, or both.

  3. In General settings, add a clear title and a description of what the recipient did to earn it. This appears on the verification page, so it's what employers will read.

  4. If the credential needs renewing, set an expiry date. See How to set expiry dates on credentials.

  5. Save.

5. Issue it to yourself first

Issue the credential to your own email address before anyone else. Open it on your phone as a recipient would, check the design and wording, and try adding it to LinkedIn.

6. Issue it to your recipients

Open the credential and issue it. Add recipients one at a time, or upload a spreadsheet for a whole group. See How do I issue credentials in bulk?

Before you send, run through Before you issue: a quick checklist.

7. Help recipients claim and share

Tell recipients their credential is coming, and encourage them to add it to LinkedIn. See Why do badges go unclaimed, and how do we fix it?
